The first full day brought reality that this challenge was no stroll. Hips and shoulders sore, and back ache. And no campsite available.
But then a farm cafe, steak dinner and after another mile or two wild camp.
Sleep disturbed by some mad 12 hour night runners.
But up with sunrise and going well.
Beautiful morning and not another walker in site.
Starting in April 2011,Richard Maunder will be going for a 630 mile stroll from Poole to Minehead, raising awareness and funds for ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund). ELF supporters and SWCP walking enthusiasts are invited to join me for sections of the trail in return for a donation to ELF via Virgin Money Giving. For more details about why I am raising funds for this great charity please visit my donation page at virginmoneygiving.com
